Polished chrome may be the most popular choice of finish when it comes to kitchen taps, but that doesn't mean that it's necessarily the best. One of the reasons why chrome is the most popular is simply because it's cheaper than any other finish, but there are drawbacks to chrome taps. The main one is that they get marked very easily - both fingerprints and water marks - and therefore require constant cleaning to keep them looking new.
Brushed stainless steel taps don't have that problem. Of course, they still need cleaning and looking after properly, but they are much more resistant to any kind of marks, as well as being more resistant to rust and corrosion showing up. The Vellamo Koro brushed stainless steel tap is a fantastic example of a modern, well priced stainless steel finished tap.
