Elgin Rural Engineered Oak

Elgin Rural Oak 190 x 20/6mm Unfinished has a total thickness of 20mm with a 6mm solid hardtop wear layer and comes in fixed lengths of 1900mm. This product is unfinished allowing the end user to finish it to how they desire, over recent years self finishing has become more popular as there are now many different oils and lacquers on market, which offer more precision to meet certain requirements.

Each plank has a micro bevelled edge giving each plank more definition individually. This floor can be sanded down up to 7 times, however, it shouldn't be necessary to do so for the first 15-20 years. The grade of this product is rustic meaning the planks have more knots and imperfections giving the product much more character and warmth. The rustic grade is the most popular grade in the wood flooring industry.

Engineered floor doesn't only look gorgeous, it is also incredibly practical too. Engineered flooring, unlike some other flooring, is able to endure fluctuations in temperatures. Because of this, it is also suitable for use with underfloor heating and can be used in rooms such as conservatories and basements without perishing.

The Elgin Rural Oak can be installed using one of two techniques. Option one would be to secret nail the tongue part of the plank into a wooden subfloor. Option two would be to stick the timber directly onto the subfloor with use of flooring adhesive.
