Coffee Powder Coated Movement Joint 12.5m

Made to complement our range of Bal Micromax2 grouts, these movement joints are available in 21 colours to create a seamless finish.

• 10mm width and 12.5 depth hard wearing aluminium movement joint. The epoxy-compound infill absorbs up to 20% across the width of the joint e.g. 2mm absorbed across a 10mm wide infill. Other depths available. Length: 2.5m. Duraflex aluminium profiles have been specially developed to absorb heavy stresses and spread them evenly throughout the flooring and foundations. The metal profile makes them ideal for heavy footfall areas, for example, shopping centres.
• Movement joints should be used in floors where: there is a joint in the sub-floor (this MUST be followed through into the tiled surface), there is a structural movement joint (this MUST be followed through into the tiled surface), on suspended floors, directly over the junction of two substrates (e.g. screed to timber) or where the tiling area exceeds 10m x 10m (with no one side exceeding 10m in length). With heated floors, a movement joint should be used where the tiling area exceeds 40m², with no one side exceeding 8m in length.
• Installation: select the Duraflex profile to suit the thickness of the tiles being used, tile adhesive should be applied around the junction using a trowel. Press the Duraflex profile into the adhesive and align to the tiles. Spread tile adhesive over the entire surface of the joint and fit the tiles into the adhesive, aligning them so that they are flush with the top edge of the profile. Allow a joint of 2mm around the profile and fill the 2mm joint around the profile with grout.
